Two-days and one-night’s Visit in Beijing

By China Airline CA 422 flight departing from Narita at 08:55 AM, I visited Beijing on December 5 Tuesday 2005. Since the flight was delayed and the parking slot was far away from the Airport terminal building, my departure was actually later than 13:00. After checking in the Kunlun Hotel, I went to Beijing Friendship Hospital to see several patients and Professor Jia Sanqing as well. We had nice discussion with Professor Jia. I am very happy to see him well. I left the hospital and hurried up to the meeting with Professor Gao Runlin in his room within Fuwai Cardiovascular Center. We discussed several matters with him and Xu Bo.

The traffic within Beijing City is always getting worse and worth every month or even every day. It took more than 1 hour from Fuwai Hospital to the dinner place “WangLongZhou”

December 6 Wednesday 2005

To begin with, I came to Beijing to participate in the 4th ACSES meeting as a invited guest operator, which was held mainly by Dr. Yang and Dr. Wang at ChaoYang Red Cross Hospital. ACSES means “Acute Coronary Syndrome Evaluation and Strategy”. I am joining this meeting since its 1st time meeting. ChaoYang Red Cross Hospital renewed the catheter laboratory. There was an opening ceremony of the laboratory first from 8:30 AM. After the ceremony, I continued to do 4 live cases in the morning. There was the newest version of GE Medical single-plane flat panel machine.

The live cases were transmitted to the meeting Venue at Poly Building. I guess there is about 2 Kilometers distance between the hospital and the meeting Venue. In the auditorium, Dr. Huo Yong and other top Chinese physicians were chairing the session. The 3rd case for me was the case with CTO in RCA. I did it through the bilateral transfemoral approach. The case was successful and finished in 30 minutes. I took the transradial approach for the other 3 cases. After finishing my cases around 11:30 AM, I had lunch within the hospital and moved to the airport to take my return flight of JAL 782 departing at 15:10 for Tokyo.

Finally, I came back to Japan around 7:00 PM on December 7. This travel to Beijing took only 36 hours.

1泊2日の北京訪問

2005年12月5日火曜日8:55AM成田発の中国国際航空CA 422便で北京首都空港に向か いました。飛行機は遅れ、おまけにターミナルから遠いパーキングにとまったために、結局到着 したのは13:00を回っていました。昆倫ホテルにチェック・インしてから北京友誼病院にJia 先生に会い、症例検討をするために急ぎました。Jia先生の元気な姿に会え、とても嬉しかった のです。午後4時には病院を出て、阜外病院にGao先生にお会いするために急ぎました。Gao 先生の部屋で、Xuboを交えて色々なことを話しました。

北京の交通渋滞は毎月のように、いや毎日のように悪くなっています。阜外病院を出て万 龍州に到着するまでに1時間以上かかってしまいました。

何はさておき、今回の北京訪問は第4回ACSES会議に招聘術者として出席するためでし た。この会議は、朝陽赤十字病院の楊先生と王先生によって開かれていて、“Acute Coronary Syndrome Evaluation and Strategy”のことです。私は第一回会議から参加しています。朝陽赤 十字病院のカテ室は新しくなりました。まず、8:30 AMよりそのカテ室の開会式が開催されま した。その後、午前中に4例のライブデモンストレーションを行いました。機械はGEの最新 型フラット・パネルでした。

ライブデモンストレーション症例は保利ビルディングの中の会場に飛ばされました。病院 との距離は2 Km以上あるのではないでしょうか。会場ではHuo先生たちが座長をされていま した。私の3例目はRCAの慢性完全閉塞症例でしたが、この症例は両側大腿動脈穿刺で行いま した。30分ぐらいですばやく終了しました。他の症例は経橈骨動脈冠動脈インターベンション で行いました。症例を終了し、院内で食事を食べてから、空港に急ぎ、東京行き15:10発のJAL 782便で日本に帰国しました。

結局、12月7日の午後7時に日本に戻りました。今回の北京旅行は36時間でした。
