Attending HBD West Think Tank Meeting

On January 10 Wednesday and 11 Thursday 2007, “Harmonization By Doing” West Think Tank meeting was held in Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA.

I attended this meeting as a representative of Japanese Interventional Cardiology Academia. Many officials from Japanese Ministry of Labor and Welfare (MHLW), Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency (PMDA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and people from Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) or from Japanese and US Medical Device companies.

After coming back from Beijing and spending several hours in Narita Airport, I flew to Durham, North Carolina on January 9, 2007. My hotel was Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, which is run by Duke University. The meeting was held in a big auditorium within R. David Thomas Center in Duke University. It was a really tough meeting for me. My sincere impression was how far I had reached. After spending tough days, I came back to Japan on January 13 Saturday.
