First EuroPCR meeting in Barcelona

EuroPCR meeting use to be held in Paris. However, it was changed to Barcelona from this year. I took LH 7111 flight from Narita to Frankfurt departing at 9:55 AM on May 21 Monday 2007. The flight was connected to LH 4458 and finally reached Barcelona International Airport around 18:00 on the same day. The airport terminal building was recently rebuilt, and it was huge and beautiful.

I directly moved to a seafood restaurant Botafumeiro　to have dinner with Dr. Fina Mauri, who is the current President of Spanish Interventional Cardiology. After the dinner, I went to the AC Barcelona hotel next to the Convention Center, which was arranged for me by the EuroPCR secretariat.

After meeting with Hungarian doctors, I left Barcelona by car for Toulouse, France. Unfortunately there were no direct flights between these 2 cities, which are separated by the　 Pyrenees and 500 Km’s distance. On the way, I dropped at a restaurant and had late lunch. The combination of cheese was great.

On the way back to Barcelona from Toulouse after finishing my live case, I visited Cadeques, which is a small port town in Spain and divided into 2 parts. One is the center of Cadeques, which is now a kind of beach resort and has a lot of small hotels and restaurants. We have to climb a mountain up and down before reaching Cadeques. I had lunch in a beautiful seafood restaurant. I had anchovy, baby squid and paella. Everything was good in taste.

After the lunch, I visited another part of Cadeques, which is called Port Lligat. A famous painter Salvador Dali used to live in Port Lligat. There was Dali’s house, which is preserved and opened as a museum. The house was unique, but the scenery from the inside was beautiful.

After coming back to Barcelona, we had a CoStar trial investigator meeting. After finishing it, we went to Tablao Cordobes. Honestly speaking, I did not expect a good Tablao in Barcelona. However, the Flamenco music there was best among what I had ever experienced.

Next day on May 24 Thursday 2007, after finishing lunch at Marina Monchos, I returned to Japan by LH 4455 to Frankfurt and NH 210 from Frankfurt, and arrived in Narita around 15:00 on Friday.

バルセロナでの初めてのEuroPCR

これまでパリで開催されていたEuroPCRが今年からバルセロナに移ることになりました。 2007年5月21日午前9:55発のLH 7111便で成田からフランクフルトに飛び、そこでLH 4458 便に乗り換えてその日の午後6時頃にバルセロナ国際空港に到着しました。空港ターミナル・ ビルは最近作られたものでとても巨大で奇麗でした。

直接シーフード・レストランBotafumeiroに向かい、現在のスペイン・インターベンショ ン学会会長であられるFina Mauri先生と食事をし、それから学会場隣のAC Barcelonaホテル チェックインしました。このホテルは学会側が用意してくれました。

ハンガリーの先生方と会ってからバルセロナからフランスのトゥールースに車で向かいま した。この二つの都市はピレネー山脈に隔てられ、500 Kmはあるのですが、残念なことにこの 間には直行便が無いのです。途中レストランに立ち寄り遅い昼食を摂ったのですが、チーズの盛 り合わせが素晴らしかったのです。

ライブデモンストレーション症例を終えてバルセロナからトゥールースに向かう途中でス ペインの港町カデケスに立ち寄りました。この町は二つの場所からなります。一つは町の中心で リゾート地となっており、小さなホテルやレストランがたくさんあります。そこで鰯、子イカと パエリアを食べましたがとてもおいしかったです。

昼食の後、カデケスのもう一つの地域であるPort Lligatに行きました。ここにあの有名な ダリが住んでいたのです。現在そのダリの家は保存され博物館になっており中が公開されていま す。中から見る外の景色はとても美しいものでした。

バルセロナに戻ってからCoStar試験研究者会合に出席しました。それが終わってから Cordobesというタブラオに行きました。正直　バルセロナには良いタブラオは無いだろうと思 っていたのですが、ここのフラメンコはこれまで見た中でも最高のものでした。

翌日2007年5月24日木曜日にはMarina Monchosで昼食を摂ってから、LH 4455便でフランクフルトに向かい、そこでNH 210便 に乗り換えて成田に金曜日の15:00頃に到着しました。
