I visited TAM DUC CARDIOLOGY HOSPITAL, which was built by French capital and totally dedicated to Cardiology. The chief doctor in Interventional Cardiology there is Dr. Dinh Duc Huy, who looks young. I performed several cases there through TRI. I used NOBORI drug-eluting stent there. We had lunch inside the hospital. Raw spring roll was tasty.

After finishing the cases, I moved to Hanoi by the evening flight. When I checked in Hotel Nikko Hanoi, there were a lot of Japanese people. They came to Vietnam to support Japanese National Football Team. There were Asian Cup Football Games were held in Vietnam. A national flag for Japanese team was displayed in the bar, where a special drink “Samurai Blue” was served.

I visited Vietnam Heart Institute, which is belonging to the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and Hanoi National University affiliated Bach Mai Hospital. That visit was my 5th one to this Institute. After giving a lecture, I did several cases through the TRI. When I first visited this hospital, the annual case number of PCI was less than 50 in 1999, when I introduced TRI to Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan. The case number has dramatically increased, and it was more than 2,000 last year in 2006. More than 95% of cases are performed through TRI. It was impressive to know that I had done something good, which might be recorded in the history of Vietnam.

After demonstrating several cases, we had a wonderful dinner in a Vietnamese Restaurant. After the dinner, Tuan took me a nice place, where we can see the night scenery of “Lovers’ Street”.

Next day morning, I flew to Hue. One the way to Hanoi Airport, there is a large industrial area, where many Japanese big companies have factories. One of them is ASAHI Intecc.
I arrived in Hue, which is the old capital of Vietnam, around 12:00 noon. Dr. Nguyen Cuu Loi was waiting for me at the airport. We had lunch in a typical Hue food restaurant, and then visited Hue Heart Institute. There, I did several cases through TRI. That was actually the 1st introduction of TRI in Hue.

Hue is a beautiful small city. At Hue, the transverse distance of Vietnam is the smallest. We can see the mountains of Laos beyond Hue River from the city. There are a palace and many temples in the city.

We had Japanese food dinner in the hotel, where a Japanese beautiful lady was working.

I flew back to HoChiMinh city and had lunch in a Japanese restaurant. There was a bottle of Japanese Sake was served, which was brewed in Hue. After the lunch, I flew to Kuala Lumpur.

刺激的な短いベトナム縦断
前回のベトナム訪問は、2004年4月のハノイ・ベトナム心臓センター訪問でした。今 回、2007年7月8日日曜日11:00 AM発のJL 5135便でホーチミンに飛びました。5時間 半の飛行で到着しました。外はとても暑くて湿気が高かったのですが、ベトナム料理レス トランで夕食を摂りました。ベトナムはフランスに占領させていましたので、街にはフラ ンスの香が漂っています。オペラ・ハウスもそのようなものの一つです。

朝からTAM DUC心臓病院を訪問しました。この病院はフランス資本で建てられたも ので、循環器専門病院です。とても若く見えるDinh Duc Huy先生がインターベンション のトップです。ここでは数例TRIで治療しました。またNOBORI薬剤溶出性ステントも 用いました。昼食は院内で食べましたが、ベトナム風生春巻きがとてもおいしかったです。

症例を終えてからハノイに飛びました。ハノイではホテル日航に泊まりましたが、そこ にはたくさんの日本人がいました。丁度、アジア・カップをやっていて、日本のサッカー・ チームの応援にかけつけていたのです。バーには日本チームの旗が掲げられ、”Samurai Blue”というドリンクがありました。

ベトナム心臓センターを訪問しました。この病院に行くのはもう5回目です。この病院 はベトナム厚生省直轄かつハノイ大学付属Bach Mai病院に所属します。最初に訪問した 1999年にはまだ年間PCI症例数が50例にも満たなかったのです。その時にNguyen Quang Tuan先生にTRIを導入しました。現在では年間2,000例以上のPCIを行い、しかもその 95%以上がTRIだと言う事です。私もベトナムの歴史に残る良い事をしたのかな? と、少 し感慨深いものがありました。

数例を行ってから皆でベトナム料理の店で夕食を摂りました。その後、Tuanが「恋人 達の道」の夜景が良く見える場所に連れていってくれました。

翌朝 古都Hueに飛びました。ハノイ空港までの道すがらには 大きな工業団地があり、 たくさんの有名な日本企業が工場を構えています。その中の一つがASAHI Inteccです。
Hueには正午頃に到着しましたが、Nguyen Cuu Loi先生が空港まで出迎えて下さいま した。そのままHue料理のレストランに移動し、昼食を摂りました。それからHue心臓セ ンターに行き、数例のTRIを行いました。これがHue最初のTRIでした。

Hueはとても美しい小さな街です。Hueの辺りでベトナムはもっとも細く、街中から Hue河の向こうにLaosの山並みを見ることができます。Hueには王宮とたくさんのお寺 が存在します。

|
|
夕食はホテルの中の日本食レストランで摂りました。そこには日本人の綺麗な女性が働 いていました。

ホーチミンに飛行機で戻り、そのまま日本食レストランで昼食を摂りましたが、そこ には日本酒のボトルがありました。これはHueで醸造されているものでした。昼食の後、 クアラルンプールに飛びました。
