ENCORE meeting

I left Vienna on September 05 Wednesday 2007 morning, and changed my flight to AF 0264 in Paris. Finally, I reached Incheon International Airport at 7:30 AM on September 06 Thursday 2007 after 13 hours flight in total.

I directly went to Samsung Medical Center to do a live case transmission for CTO lesion to the ENCORE meeting held in Seoul. Since the traffic was heavy, it took more than 2 hours to the hospital. I started my case after 11:00 AM. That male patient had a CTO lesion in the middle RCA. The proximal part of the CTO lesion was not clear. I started the case by using the 6-French TRI for the antegrade approach and the 7-French TFI for the retrograde approach. Dr. Park was assisting me. Fortunately, the patient had a relatively good apical collateral connection. I crossed a guidewire and a microcatheter to the distal RCA from LAD through the apical collateral route. Final result was nice after putting CYPHER stents in the proximal RCA. Only the part of the procedure was transmitted to the auditorium, since the operator performing before me took too much time and the schedule was delayed.

I finished my procedure by 12:30 and left the hospital. I moved to Wonju by car. It took almost 3 hours. First, I visited my favorite blow-fish restaurant, where I had Fugi-Ishiyaki. It was very delicious as always.

September 07 Friday 2007

I visited Wonju Severance Christian Hospital from early morning. There were 4 cases transmitted to the ENCORE meeting. All of the operators were local Korean physicians including Dr. Yoon. I was standing behind them and making comments. It was nice. After leaving the hospital by 3:00 PM, I hurried to the Kim’bo International Airport and took the returning flight form Kim’bo to Haneda at the evening.

ENCORE学会

ウィーンを2007年9月5日水曜日の朝にパリに向けて出発し、AF 0264便に乗り換えて13時間の飛行の後でインチョン国際空港に着いたのは2007年9月6日の7:30 AMでした。

そのままサムソン病院に直行しました。これはCTOのライブを飛ばすためでした。渋滞がひどく、病院に着くまでに2時間もかかりました。私は11:00 AMから症例を開始しました。患者さんは男性で、右冠動脈中部にCTOがあり、入り口は分かりませんでした。6Fr TRIで順行性に、7Fr TFIで逆行性に行いました。Park先生が助手をして下さいました。幸運にも患者さんにはLADからRCAへの心尖部を介した副血行がありましたので、そのルートで入りました。ガイドワイヤーとマイクロカテーテルを通し、最終的にCYPHERを植え込みました。結果は上出来でした。前の術者の手技が遅れたため、中継は一部しか出来ませんでした。
