Beautiful Venice

I flew from Hungary to Venice in order to join the 7th International Congress on Coronary Artery Disease (ICCAD) as one of the invited faculty members. By taking a LH 3441 flight, I left Budapest at 9:55 AM on October 6th Saturday 2007 to Frankfurt, where I changed the flight to LH 4084 after 1 hour’s transit time. Finally, I arrived at Venice International Airport around 1:30 PM. Before arriving Venice, I could see the whole scenery of Venice Main Island.

By taking a sea taxi, I moved to the Main Island and checked in the hotel “The Westin Europe & Regina”. Since it was rainy, I spent the afternoon in the hotel. I had the dinner of the day at a good, maybe the best in Venice, seafood restaurant “Trattoria alla Madonna”, which is located near the famous bridge “Rialto Bridge” spanning over the Gand Canal. The taste was nice.

October 7th Sunday 2007

I walked around the old city for sightseeing. Venice is a really beautiful city. However, it is exposed to the risk of sinking. The sea shore was some part covered by the ocean wave. Gondola is very famous. Plaza of San Marco was crowded by many foreign tourists. Sea bus was also crowded.

After having early dinner, I went to a classical music concert. The chamber music group was “Interpreti Veneziani”. The music was “Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi. It was very nice. Especially, a cello player (Davide Amadio) was fantastic. The concert was held in a church and fully occupied. It was really lucky for me to have a chance to enjoy a chamber music in Venice.

October 8th Monday, 2007

After checking out the hotel, I took a Sea Taxi to move to the Lido Island, where the ICCAD meeting was held. My lecture time was from 14:30. After finishing my lecture on Retrograde Approach for CTO Lesions, I hurried to Venice International Airport. Leaving at 18:05 by LH 4087 flight, I moved to Frankfurt Airport again, where I changed my flight to NH 210. I finally reached Japan around 3:00 PM on October 9th Tuesday 2007.

美しいベニス

第7回ICCADという国際学会に招聘され、10月6日土曜日9:55 AMブタペスト発のLH 3441便でフランクフルト空港に向かいました。一時間の接続の後、LH 4084便でベニス国際空 港に向かい、ベニスに1:30 PM頃に到着しました。ベニス到着直前には、ベニス本島が良く見 えました。

水上タクシーに乗ってベニス本島に向かい、ホテルにチェック・インしました。ホテルは The Westin Europe & Reginaでした。外は雨だったので、午後はホテルで過ごしました。夕食 は、大運河にかかる有名な橋、Rialto橋近くにあるTrattoria alla Madonnaというシーフード・ レストランで摂りました。このレストランはとても良い、いやいや多分ベニスで一番おいしいシ ーフード・レストランです。

街を歩き回って観光しました。ベニスは美しい街です。しかし、沈没の危機にあります。海 岸沿いは部分的に海水につかっていました。ゴンドラもとても有名ですね。サン・マルコ広場は 外国人旅行者で溢れていました。海上バスも混んでいました。

早めに夕食を摂ってか、クラシック音楽演奏会に行きました。”InterpretiVeneziani”という 名前の室内楽グループでした。曲目はビバルディの四季でした。とても良かったのですが、特に チェロ奏者のDavide Amadioが素晴らしかったです。演奏会は教会で行われましたが、満席で した。ベニスで室内楽の演奏を聞けたのはとても幸運でした。

ホテルをチェック・アウトしてから海上タクシーに乗って、リド島に渡りました。そこで、 学会が開催されたのです。私の講演は14:30からありました。CTOに対する逆行性アプローチ の講演を終えてから、ベニス国際空港に急ぎました。18:05発のLH 4087便に乗り、フランク フルト空港に再び行き、それからNH 210便に乗り換えて、結局2007年10月9日 3:00 PMに 日本に戻りました。
