Stay in China for less than 24 hours

I flew to Beijing by JL 683 departing at 09:35 AM on December 1st Saturday 2007 to do live case transmission during ACS (Acute Coronary Symposium) meeting held by ChaoYang Red Cross Hospital. At same time, there was Japan-China Ministers meeting was held in Beijing. There were several Parliament members and Ministry persons in the same airplane. While my flight to Beijing, the on-demand TV system did not work in the airplane due to some mechanical errors. I had had these types of troubles in the past while travelling on the business-class flights. However, I had only apologies from the flight attendants in the past. However, the situation was totally different this time. They proposed us to provide coupons of the value of 3,000 Japanese Yen for apology. I guessed that they had decided to provide them because they had Parliament members in the passengers. JAL is always looking at Government persons but not general people.

After arriving at Beijing Capital Airport around noon, I directly moved to ChaoYang Red Cross Hospital to do CTO live case transmissions for Acute Coronary Syndrome meeting. I performed 2 CTO cases. It was successful. After finishing my cases, Dr. Wang proposed me the honorary certificate.

After having dinner, I checked in the hotel.

December 2nd Sunday 2007

I left the hotel early morning and took the early morning JAL flight to NARITA, which reached there at 1:00 PM. Again, the trip to Beijing was very short.

2007年12月01日土曜日09.35 発JL 683便で、朝陽赤十字病院主催のACS学会におい てライブデモンストレーションを行うために北京に飛びました。丁度その時、北京では日中外相 会議が開催されてしました。機内には数名の国会議員と役人が搭乗していました。北京への飛行 機の中ではメカニカル・トラブルで機内映画を見ることができませんでした。このようなトラブ ルは数回ビジネス・クラス機内で遭遇したことがあります。でも、これまでの対応は単にお詫び の言葉を述べるだけでした。しかし、今回は違っていました。機内アナウンスで、3,000円のク ーポンをお詫びに渡す、というのです。きっと、国会議員が乗っていたからだと思います。全く、 JALは何時でも一般の人々でなく、政府の方ばかり見ているんだから。

北京首都空港に昼ごろ到着し、そのまま朝陽赤十字病院に向かい、二例のCTO症例をライ ブデモンストレーションで行いました。うまく行きました。症例を終えた後、王先生から、栄誉 感謝状を与えられました。

夕食を摂ってからホテルに入りました。

早朝ホテルを出てから成田に早朝発のJAL便で戻りました。1:00 PM頃に成田に戻りまし た。またもやとても短い北京への旅でした。
