the 16th Asian Pacific Congress of Cardiology, APCC in Taipei

I chaired the panel discussion titled “What is the guideline for PCI or CABG?” with Dr. So-ichiro KITAMURA, the President of National Cardiovascular Center in the morning on December 14th Friday 2007 during the Coronary Association in Kyoto National Convention Center. After finishing my role, I spent several hours in Kansai Airport and took the NW 069 flight departing at 18:40 from Kansai to Taipei. American airlines are terrible. I do not like to take them. The ground staffs told me, “You were randomly selected by a computer for close security check.” They spend a lot for this wasting work. Why they have to check after I could pass without any problems in the security gate of the airport. I guess those American people do not trust in local security system. It is something like the violation of National sovereignty. In the airplane, I slept from the beginning and finally arrived in Taipei International Airport around 9:00 PM.

The meeting venue was Grand Hyatt Hotel Taipei, where I stayed. The hotel is new and next to the world-highest building, “Taipei 101”.

December 15 Saturday 2007

After checking out the hotel, I visited Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou to do live case transmissions. My 1st case had a CTO lesion in the RCA. Previous attempt was failed. I decided to do retrograde approach from TFI. I could finish this case in 1 hour during live transmission.

I quickly finished next case during live transmission. It was almost noon. Although I had several roles in the auditorium, I cancelled them and went to the airport to take NH 211 flight departing at 15:45. I arrived at NARITA Airport at 19:40 on the same day. Busy days!

冠疾患学会で国立循環器病センター総長の北村惣一郎先生と共に、2007年12月14日金曜 日京都国立会議場で「PCIとCABGのガイドラインを考える」というシンポジウムの座長を務 めました。その仕事を終えてから関西空港で数時間過ごした後、18:40関西空港発のNW 069 便で台北に飛びました。アメリカの航空会社はとんでもありません。本当に乗りたくありません。 地上係員が言いました。「あなたはコンピューターで無作為に保安試験に選ばれました。」本当に 無駄な仕事に時間を潰すんだから。どうして、空港の保安検査を通過した後に、また検査するの でしょうか?　きゃつらアメリカ人はその空港の保安検査を信用していないのだ。これは、国家 主権に対する侵害と同じです。飛行機の中では最初から眠ってしまい、台北に到着したのは9:00 PMでした。

すぐに次の症例を終えました。もう昼頃でした。講堂でいくつかの役割がありましたが、全 てキャンセルして空港に向かいました。そして、15:45発のNH 211便に乗り成田に同日19:40 に到着しました。とっても忙しい日々でした。
