Visiting Beijing University No.1 Hospital after 3 years

I came back to Beijing again in this month by flying with JL 789 flights departing on 18:10 and arriving at 21:20 on December 19 Wednesday 2007. After having late dinner, I checked in Swiss Hotel Beijing.

Next day morning on December 20, I visited Beijing University No. 1 Hospital. This hospital is the one, which I visited first in December 1991 to demonstrate PCI. You can find the story at Visiting China-I. You can also find the story of my last visit at this hospital at Visiting China-X. Young leading PCI doctor, Professor Huo Yong is one of my friends in China since my first trip to China.

I held a CTO Workshop in Beijing University No.1 Hospital with Professor Huo. The concept of the workshop was exactly similar to one which I held in Stockholm in the end of November 2007. We invited less than 20 physicians, who were actively doing PCI by themselves. We arranged 3 cases in a day and I did all of the cases. The cases had so-called real CTO lesions. All of the patients had previous failed attempts to recanalize once or twice. I did one retrograde approach and two antegrade approaches. All of the procedures were successful. During the procedures, we had a lot of discussions. I am sure that the workshop was very fruitful. After finishing the schedule, we had fancy dinner together.

December 21 Friday 2007

I visited Beijing Friendship Hospital from the morning. Professor Li and his colleagues prepared 12 cases in total for me. Before starting the procedures, I met honorary Professor Shen LuHua. She is a great teacher for all of the Chinese Cardiologists. He was also in Beijing University No. 1 Hospital, when I visited there in 1991. We know each other for many years. We shared the memories on Professor Jia SanQing.

After finishing all of the cases by 14:30, I left for the Airport to take the TG 615 flight departing at 17:50 for Bangkok. The last trip in 2007 for China was wonderful and fruitful again.

3年ぶりの北京大学付属第一病院訪問

2007年12月19日水曜日18:10 発21:20着のJL 789便で、北京にこの月二回目ですが舞 い戻りました。遅い夕食を食べてからSwiss Hotelにチェック・インしました。

翌朝12月20日、北京大学付属第一病院を訪問しました。この病院は私が1991年12月に 最初にPCIをするために訪れた病院です。この時の話は「中国訪問記-I」に書いてありますの でご覧下さい。前回訪問の時の話は「中国訪問記-X」でご覧頂けます。若手のPCI指導者であ る霍勇(Huo Yong)教授は私の最初の中国訪問の時からの友人の一人です。

Huo先生とこの第一病院でCTOワークショップを開いたのです。このワークショップのコ ンセプトは2007年11月にストックホルムで開いたものと同じです。実際にPCIを積極的に行 っている医師20名以内を招待します。一日のコースで3例のCTOを用意し、その全例を私が 治療します。いわゆる真のCTO症例であり、全例一度から二度PCIが試みられています。一例 で逆行性を、二例で順行性アプローチを行いました。手技全てで成功しました。手技の間にたく さん議論しました。このワークショップが実り多きものであったことを確信します。手技を終っ てから全員で夕食を摂りました。

朝から北京友誼病院を訪問しました。Li先生達は私に12例の症例を用意されていました。 手技を始める前に名誉教授の沈　路華　先生と話をしました。彼女は中国の循環器医師全ての先 生であり、1991年に私が北京大学第一病院を訪問した時にその病院におられました。私たちは 長年の知り合いです。Jia SanQing先生の思い出を語り合いました。

14:30までに症例を終え、17:50発のバンコク行きTG 615便に乗るために空港に向かいま した。2007年中国最後の訪問はまたもや素晴らしく有意義なものでした。
