Joining the KSIC annual meeting in Busan

After joining the Slender Club meeting in Aomori, I returned to Haneda Airport by JL 1210 flight departing at 20:45 on January 11th Friday 2008 from Aomori Airport. Since I had to be in Busan before noon next day, I had to move to Chubu International Airport in Nagoya. If I took the flights from Narita or Haneda to Korea next day, it was impossible to reach Busan by noon. After arriving at Haneda Airport, I moved to Chubu International Airport by car and arrived in Centrair Hotel around 3:00 AM on January 12th Saturday.

After having short sleep, I waked up at 6:30 AM. I took a JL 987 flight departing at 9:00 AM to Busan Gimhae Airport. After less than 2 hours’ flight, I reached Gimhae Airport around 11:00 AM.

I was invited to talk about the result of Endeavor-Japan trial during the lunch-time session in the annual meeting of KSIC (Korean Society of Interventional Cardiology). The meeting was held in Grand Hotel at Hae-Un-Dae. I met many friends in Korea there. My co-speaker was Dr. Yangsoo Jian from Yonsei University Severance Hospital.

After finishing the lunch-time session, I visited a famous blow-fish restaurant in Busan “Kum-Su Pok-Chim” with Dr. Jian. It was crowded there. After enjoying the lunch, we hurried to Gimhae Airport to take the KE 1132 flight departing at 17:20. In Gimpo Airport, I changed to the JL 8834 flight departing at 19:30 and arrived at Haneda Airport around 21:30 on January 12th Saturday 2008. Thus, this trip to Korea took less than 12 hours. It was my first experience in traveling to the foreign country in less than 1 day.

釜山でのKSICに参加して

青森で開かれたSlender Clubに参加した後、2008年1月11日金曜日最終の20:45発 JL 1210便で羽田空港に戻りました。翌日昼までには釜山に到着せねばならなかったので、 中部国際空港に移動せねばなりませんでした。成田空港や羽田空港から翌日飛んでいては どうしたって昼までに釜山に着くことは不可能なのです。羽田からは車で移動し、セント レア・ホテルに到着したのは1月12日土曜日3:00 AMでした。

短い睡眠を取ってから6:30 AMには起床しました。9:00 AM発の釜山金海空港行きの JL 987便に乗りました。2時間かからない飛行時間でし、11:00 AMには金海空港に着きま した。

今回は、釜山で開催されたKSIC (韓国インターベンション学会)年次集会のランチョン でEndeavor-Japan試験の結果を報告するために招かれました。学会は海雲台のGrand Hotelで開かれました。学会場でたくさんの韓国の友人に会いました。私の他に延世大学の Jian先生も話をされました。

このランチョンを終えてからJian先生と釜山で有名なフグ料理の店「金水フグ店」に 行きました。店は満員でした。ここで昼食を終えてから、再び金海空港に戻り、17:20発の KE 1132便でソウルの金浦空港に飛び、そこで19:30発のJL 8834便に乗り換え、2008年 1月12日土曜日21:30頃に羽田空港に戻ってきました。結局、今回の韓国旅行は12時間 も韓国にいなかったことになります。実際、私にとって、これが初めての日帰り外国旅行 でした。
